Course Description
Developmentally appropriate strategies in core curriculum areas and the environment are emphasized. Methods for supporting the lead classroom teacher in planning and implementing educational goals are included. Teamwork skills are explored. Ways of providing and reporting instructional accommodations or modifications are covered.
Prerequisites: None
Other materials needed:
A binder to organize class information, course notes, and handouts.
Methods of instruction:
Small group activities, whole group activities, workshops, resource visitors, field trips, audio-visuals, observations, interviews, lecture.

Attendance/participation * 50 points A = 450 - 500 points
Mid-semester Exam * 100 points B = 400 - 449 points
Final Exam * 100 points C = 350 - 399 points
Projects (4) * 200 points D = 300 - 349 points
Miscellaneous Assignments * 50 points F = below 300 points

As per Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, if accommodation is needed, students must make the request through the Director of Administrative Services, 830.591.7330.
Each student will---
1. Be an active participant in class discussions and/or group activities or assignments;
2. Ask questions to help clarify any misunderstandings in directions given or assignments made;
3. Keep an accurate/current notebook of all materials;
4. Read, understand, and comply with instructions in the syllabus and additional instructions as given;
5. Complete assignments by due date;
6. Attend class regularly;

It is your responsibility to contact the instructor before the next class if you are absent from class. (This contact must be made at least 24 hours before your next class. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to obtain the assignments given during the class you missed and complete them on time.
