IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Read the "Criteria for Blocking/unblocking Online Class Registration" below.

  All online class students will be required

to take the Mid-term or Final Exam or both in person.  If you can not come on

campus for the exam, an acceptable site approved by instructor can be arranged.

This website is not the website you will be using for your class.   You will only be accessing this website up to the first week of school.  This website is for information only.  All my online classes will be held in a WebCT format. WebCT is an Internet based software application that is specifically designed to deliver courseware on the World Wide Web. 

 After  you have registered  for your class, emailed me at one of the email addresses above so I will have an email and address to contact you before the class starts.

Your WebCT class will not officially open until the first day of classes, but if you email me as soon as you register, I will be able to send you information about the text book and where you can buy it and how you can start the class earlier.

Information on How to Login to WebCT

Your WebCT login ID  and Password are the same as your Portal login.

The login ID is the first part of your email set up by the college.

For example if you name is Mary L. Smith, the college email could be mlsmith with the  extension @swtjc.edu.  Your login ID would be mlsmith.  Your Portal and WebCT password is your date of birth (mmddyy).  If you do not know what your ID and Password are, go to the college website and click on WebAdvisor.  Select "Student" and you will see where you can choose "What is my ID" or "What is my Password."

Once you know your ID and Password, click on the WebCT icon and go the the WebCT login page and login to your class.  You can also find the WebCT link on the College website.

CRITERIA FOR BLOCKING/UNBLOCKING ONLINE CLASS REGISTRATION 

 

 1.  New Students

  1.  All new students will be blocked from registering in an online class.

  2.  A blocked, new student will be manually unblocked after presenting a current Online Readiness Completion Certificate to a counselor/advisor who will complete an "Over-Ride Approval Form".

  3.  You can access the  "Online Readiness Assessment" on the SWTJC Home Page under "Current Students". 

 2.  Existing Students 

  1.  Existing students will be blocked or re-blocked if a grade of "D", "F", or "W" was reported in an online class the previous semester.

  2.  A blocked, existing student must see a counselor/advisor to discuss the reasons for lack of success in the online class.

  3.  After due consideration, the counselor/advisor may choose to unblock the student's registration in online classes by completing an "Over-Ride Approval" form.
